- Comfortably Numb Universe
- A fun and severely bent bunch of veteran softballers from Davis, California. They were one of the first teams we connected with and I used to love following their shenanigans and game write-ups. Believe it or not, these guys are still playing! The old coach and webmaster Jay "The Pirate" Tyburczy is supposedly retired, but I'm betting his presence is still hanging over the dugout.
- U.S. Exporters
- Out of Arlington, Virginia. Around here I'm known as the Stat Man. But Jay Hatfield is truly the STAT MAN. His website is a trunkload of information, and proof that he is my opposite self from the opposite coast, when he learned that we had earned run averages for our pitchers, Jay went back through EVERY box score in their team's history to figure out the earned runs vs. the unearned runs. And I thought I was the only person idiotic enough to do something like that. Jay Hatfield, you are my hero.
- On the Beat
- Out of San Francisco, these guys have a musical connection with each other. Now they haven't posted anything since their championship run in 2010, and I can't I blame them. We'd have been better off forgetting those last few years of ours as well. Their website comes to you in the form of a newsletter, and although they haven't reported anything in a while, the site still works! Good enough for me. Check out the trading cards.
- The CERN Softball Club
- Playing out of Geneva, Switzerland, this is the first softball organization to appear on the internet. Hey, why not? These are the guys who invented the damn thing!
- Clooney's
- Team from nearby San Mateo who have been together since 1996. They also haven't posted anything for a few years, but the website still works. I'll bet the beer cooler is still right next to the dugout.
- Hardhitters
- As their name indicates, these hard hitters from Denver, Colorado, play the Masters (over 35) Division. Hey! Another bunch of old guys!
- Twin Creeks Sports Complex
- It's what AWA called home for 15 years. Though these days it serves as much as a soccer complex than one for softball. Located right off San Francisco Bay in north Sunnyvale, the fields were notorious for its windy conditions. We loved fields 1 and 9 (wind blows straight out), and hated fields 4, 5, and 7 for the opposite effect. Each of the 10 fields had its own unique personality. The clubhouse had a full bar and kitchen, and softball night was always pure joy.
