Matt Granville
Matt was probably the most even-tempered guy to play for AWA. He was never warned by an umpire, never slammed his glove or bat in anger, never scowled. He never even swore. Never. He just came out and made his plays and got his hits and told everyone, "nice job". We waited patiently for the blowup to come, but it never did. He came to the team in '92 as a friend of Dave Jackson's, and he filled in nicely during one of AWA's most difficult and tumultuous times. Matt was the guy who voted for Neil Christie for team MVP in '95 and prevented Tom Sukup from being the unanimous Most Valuable Player for that year. He was just sticking up for the bottom of the order. That was Matt's style.
